The role of the church, in regards
to raising teenagers, is to be a help to the parents. One way in which
the church helps is through age-appropriate preaching. Because this
tool is so important, it is vital that parents be made aware of what is
being preached to their teenagers each month. Below is a list of
messages that have been preached recently:
Central Baptist School Chapel
- "God's Plan For His Chosen" - Bro. Caleb Sobin
Date: 04/28/2010
Message: David, God's chosen king and the man after God's own heart, exhorts his chosen son Solomon. David tells Solomon the purpose of life and this applies to all of us who are His chosen people. We are to know God and serve Him. God gave us help to fulfill this purpose. We have His Word, His Spirit, and His servants.
- "There's Power In Purity"
Date: 05/05/2010
Message: Throughout the Old and New Testaments the Bible speaks of purity. The Old
Testament law demands purity in the Tabernacle and animal sacrifices. It
pictured Jesus Christ coming to the earth as a pure man and giving His life
for us. Jesus has the power to save because of His purity; therefore, if we
want to have power in our lives, we must let Christ live His purity through
us.
- "How Not To Be A Demas"
Date: 05/19/2010
Message: Demas was a fellowlaborer with Paul, just as the teens are with Preacher, yet he got his eyes off of the Lord, his eyes off of God's man, and his heart on the World. Summer is a dangerous time for becoming a Demas.
Teen Hour
- "Does God Believe In Your God"
Date: 04/25/2010
Message: So often we as Christian profess to have faith in God, yet, our actions in life are contrary to that profession. We say God will help in times of trouble, but when trouble comes we turn to everything else but God. Does God really believe He is your God?
- "A Little Fire In Pudding"
Date: 05/02/2010
Message: The great fire of London in 1666 that caused massive ammounts of destruction to the city of London all started because of a little fire in a little shed on a little street named Pudding Lane. James 3:6 relates the power of a destructive fire to that of the tongue. How many lives, homes, and churches have been destroyed because of one little word from one little person in one little place!
- "Purposed On Purpose"
Date: 05/16/2010
Message: Several hundreds (maybe even thousands) of Israelite young people were taken into Babylonian capivity in Daniel 1, but only four are mentioned by name. Those same four went on to do great things for God while the others faded into the Babylonian world around them. What was the difference in those four young men? They were purposed on purpose according to Daniel 1:8.
- "How To Prevent A Regretful Summer"
Date: 05/23/2010
Message: Although the summer months provide a wonderful opportunity for fun to be had and memories to be made, it is also a time used by Satan to attack teenagers. Many teenagers have made life-changing decisions during the summer. The Bible gives us several principles that assure a Christian teenager safety in the summer.
Note: All Teen Hour messages are by Bro. T.J. Mitchell unless otherwise
noted.
