The role of the church, in regards to raising teenagers, is to be a help to the parents. One way in which the church helps is through age-appropriate preaching. Because this tool is so important, it is vital that parents be made aware of what is being preached to their teenagers each month. Below is a list of messages that have been preached recently:

   Central Baptist School Chapel
  • "Not By My Strength" - Bro. Chad Farber
    Date: 03/03/2010
    Text: I Samuel 15:14
Message: Samson was no stronger than any other man as demonstrated by his mistakes in life. However, when the "Spirit of the Lord came upon him" he became a competely different being. Even after many bad decisions and a sinful life, God still gave Samson power to accomplish incredible feats.

  • Providence Baptist College
    Date: 03/10/2010
Message: A men's tour group from Providence Baptist College joined us for chapel on March 10. The teenagers enjoyed a time of singing from the group, and heard a breif challenge from the tour group's preacher. The message was followed by a time of questions and answers about the college.
   Teen Hour
  • "How To Choose Your Friends In A Church"
    Date: 02/14/2010
Message: In any size congregation there are going to be people at different stages in their spiritual growth. Some strong; some weak. It is important that each Christian surround himself with those who will be a positive influence on his spiritual growth.

  • "Act- Don't React"
    Date: 02/21/2010
Message: A wise Christian will not wait until a situation occurs to decide how they will react. Rather, a wise Christian will take time to understand that certain events will eventually take place in life (he will get mistreated, hurt, angry, etc) and therefore, decide NOW how he will ACT when that situation comes up.

  • "How To Treat Your Enemies"
    Date: 03/07/2010
Message: Unfortunately, all of us have enemies. We should never be someone else's enemy, but we cannot help if someone chooses to be our enemy. The Bible gives us several principles on how we should deal with such people.

  • "The Importance Of Treating Each Other Right"
    Date: 03/14/2010
Message: When we treat each other improperly, the Bible says that we "grieve" the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of God is not pleased when he sees the children of God at odds with each other.

Note: All Teen Hour messages are by Bro. T.J. Mitchell unless otherwise noted.
