Quit Telling Me I'm Normal!
By Cary Schmidt
You’ve probably heard it. If you’re a parent or an authority figure to
young people, you’ve probably said it. “It’s a phase.” “He will
probably grow out of it.” “All teenagers are rebellious.” “Well, you
know, she’s just at that age when teens act like this!” Let me get right to the point. One of the greatest, most

For some reason, we have lowered our standards. We have been worn down
by a culture adrift from biblical principle. We have become

Which Kind Of Parent Are You?
By Paul Chappell
A s parents, we have an awesome responsibility
to raise our children
for the Lord. Parenting is so much bigger than providing basic
necessities of life; it requires nurturing young hearts in the ways of
the Lord.
Our culture pressures us to assume false methods
of parenting that
sound logical by man’s reasoning but will ultimately damage our
children. We must reject these worldly philosophies and follow the
principles of God’s Word to bring up our children in the nurture
and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

On the Same Page
The role of the church, concerning raising
teenagers, is to be a help to the parents. One way in which
the church helps is through age-appropriate preaching. Because this
tool is so important, it is vital that parents be made aware of what is
being preached to their teenagers each month. Below is a list of
messages that have been preached recently:
- "Act - Don't React" - Bro. T.J. Mitchell
- "Not By My Strength" - Bro. Chad Farber
- "How To Choose Friends In A Church" - Bro. T.J. Mitchell
