The role of the church, in regards
to raising teenagers, is to be a help to the parents. One way in which
the church helps is through age-appropriate preaching. Because this
tool is so important, it is vital that parents be made aware of what is
being preached to their teenagers each month. Below is a list of
messages that have been preached recently:
Central Baptist School Chapel-
During our first week back at school after the Christmas Break, we held our first Back To School Revival. Each day at 1:00 PM a different area preacher preached a chapel service for us. The excitement and spirit of the student body was tremendous. Below is a list of the messages preached that week.
- "Discouragement" - Pastor Dan Carr, Sr.
Date: 01/04/2010
Message: Of all the tools Satan has at his disposal to use for an attack against a Christian young person, his most effective is that of discouragement. Satan knows if he can get you discouraged he can defeat you.
- "Making The Right Choices" - Pastor Eric Hite
Date: 01/05/2010
Message: Everything in life comes down to making the right choices. Life revolves around making choices. When making a decision realize there are really only two choices to choose from: God's Way and not God's Way. Happiness is promised when one chooses God's Way!
- "Surviving The Christain Life" - Pastor Steve Mackender
Date: 01/06/2010
Message: Although it's a joy to be a Christian, it's not always easy. The Christian life has moments in it when it seems impossible to survive. Yet, God has given us in His Word some "survival techniques" that will ensure our safety and happiness.
- "Surviving To Succeed" - Pastor Jeremiah Andrews
Date: 01/07/2010
Message: Many times we feel if we can just survive a particular situation we can make it. Unfortunately, life isn't always easy after you overcome a trial. We as Christians must learn not only how to get through the hard times, but also how to stay right even in the good times.
Teen Hour-
The past few weeks in Teen Hour we have been studying "How To Treat Different Types Of Church Members." In a church our size, there are going to people with whom we don't get along. By studying in God's Word
we find that God has instructed us how we ought to deal with different types of Christians.
- "How To Treat Those With Whom We Disagree"
Date: 12/27/2009
Message: Not everyone is going to agree on everything, and the more time you spend around someone the more you will realize this fact. Because of this, we as Christians must learn to avoid situations and topics that will lead to a disagreement.
- "How To Treat Those Who Have Qualities That Are Irritating"
Date: 01/03/2010
Message: No one is perfect. Hang aroung someone long enought and you will find that there are things they do which irritate you. At the same time, you have qualities that irritate others. In order to ensure avoiding situations where those qualities will be revealed, one must learn how to manage their time with those particular individuals.
- "How To Treat Those That Are Stronger Than You"
Date: 01/10/2010
Message: In a church our size, there are going to be several people that are stronger spiritually than you are. For instance, the pastor, is usually a stronger Christian than most in the church. Well how are we to treat those who are stronger? Run them down? Argue with them? Belittle them? The answer to those questions is of course "no." We must pray, encourage, and provide for those that are stronger.
Note: All Teen Hour messages are by Bro. T.J. Mitchell unless otherwise
noted.
