The role of the church, in regards
to raising teenagers, is to be a help to the parents. One way in which
the church helps is through age-appropriate preaching. Because this
tool is so important, it is vital that parents be made aware of what is
being preached to their teenagers each month. Below is a list of
messages that have been preached recently:
Central Baptist School Chapel
- "Boy Wanted" - Pastor Miller
Date: 04/07/2010
Message: Using an want ad from an old newspaper, Pastor Miller challenged the young people to learn self-discipline.
- "Positive Peer Pressure"
Date: 04/14/2010
Message: How much different would our youth departments and schools be if there was possitive peer pressure at work among the young people. Wouldn't it be great if praying was the "cool thing to do?" It only takes a few young people to start a positive peer pressure like that.
- "Already A Memory"
Date: 04/21/2010
Message: God cried unto His people through the prophet Jeremiah that He "remembered them." How sad a statement. When God looks down at each of us today, does he see only a memory? Is the peak of our spiritual maturity in our past? If so, we are already a memory to God.
Teen Hour
- "We Are Not The Only Ones"
Date: 03/21/2010
Message: Elijah, in a moment of weakness, felt as if he was the only one doing right. If we are not careful, the Devil will try to get us to think the same thing. Our church is the only one who believes "this way." The truth is there are thousands of young people just like you that believe and act just like you. You are NOT the only one like this!
- "The Forgotten Side of Submission"
Date: 03/28/2010
Message: When one thinks of submission, he mostly thinks of giving up his will, giving up his choices, etc. But often times the other side of submission is overlooked. When one submittes they also gain a peace and comfort in knowing that they are no longer responsible for making a tough decision. They can rest in the assurance that the authority is making the right call, and if not, the authority will have to answer to God for it.
- "Protecting Yourself From Spears"
Date: 04/18/2010
Message: Although Saul was no doubt a great warrior, he could not hit David with his spear. Twice Saul attempted to hit David, but each time David dodged the angry attack. How did David do this? How can we dodge personal attacks that are hurled our way? How can we keep from getting bitter when we are misunderstood?
