Established in 1949, Central Baptist Church has been a gospel lighthouse in the Pine Belt Area for more than 60 years. As an independent, Baptist church, Central Baptist Church puts a strong emphasis on the preaching of the infallible Word of God, the edifying of the Christian, and the reaching of lost souls for Christ.
During the early days of this ministry, Central Baptist Church went through a series of pastors, but in 1957, God called Dr. Charles R. (C.R.) Williams to be the pastor. Under the leadership of Dr. Williams, Central Baptist Church became the largest Baptist church in the state of Mississippi. Thousands came to know Christ as their personal Saviour as a result of Dr. Williams' ministry.
Today, Central Baptist Church still stands on the old-fashioned doctrines and principles that has made this church great. Now with the leadership of Pastor Miller, Central Baptist Church continues to grow and see lost souls saved. It is the goal of Central Baptist Church to inspire people to develop a heart for God and to include them in a church family where they can be instructed and then involved in ministry that is fundamental in doctrine and determined to impact South Mississippi and the regions beyond with the Gospel of Christ. |
